Hanoi (VNA) – The StateBank of Vietnam set the reference exchange rate at 22,475 VND/USD on April 9,down 2 VND from the last day of previous week (April 6).
With the current trading band of +/-3 percent, the ceiling rate applied to commercial banks during the day is 23,153VND/USD and the floor rate 21,709 VND/USD.
The opening hour rates at majorcommercial banks saw some fluctuations. While Vietcombank and BIDV adjustedtheir listed rates down, Vietinbank raised its buying rate.
The rates listed at Vietcombankare 22,765 VND/USD (buying) and 22,835 VND/USD (selling), both down 15 VND fromthe rates on April 6.
BIDV listed the buying rate at22,765 VND/USD and the selling rate at 22,835 VND/USD, both down 5 VND.
The greenback is being bought atVietinbank at 22,764 VND/USD, up 10 VND, and sold at 22,834 VND/USD, the sameas on April 6.
Last week, the reference exchangerate was adjusted down in the first two days, but the trend was reversed onWednesday and the uptrend continued to the last day of the week (April 6).-VNA
