Reference exchange rate down at week’s beginning

The State Bank of Vietnam set the daily reference exchange rate at 23,169 VND per USD on June 28, up 10 VND from the last working day of previous week (June 25).

Hanoi (VNA) - The State Bank of Vietnam set the daily referenceexchange rate at 23,169 VND per USD on June 28, up 10 VND from the last workingday of previous week (June 25).

With the current trading band of +/- 3 percent, the ceiling rate applied tocommercial bank during the day is 23,864 VND/USD and the floor rate 22,573VND/USD.

The rates listed at commercial banks saw slight fluctuations.

At 8:20 am, the rates at Vietcombank stood at 22,880 VND/USD (buying) and 23,110VND/USD (selling), unchanged from June 25.

BIDV cut both rates by 5 VND, listing the buying rate at 22,910 VND/USD and theselling rate at 23,110 VND/USD.

Vietinbank kept their both rates unchanged from June 25, listing at 22,890 VND/USD(buying) and 23,110 VND/USD.

During the week from June 21 to June 25, the daily reference exchange rate keptan upward trend on the first three days, and then remained stable before it wasadjusted down on Friday. It ended the week It ended the week up 33 VND compareto the rate on Monday./.
