Reference exchange rate down 5 VND at week’s beginning

The State Bank of Vietnam set the daily reference exchange rate at 23,137 VND per USD on December 7, down 5 VND from the last working day of previous week.

Hanoi (VNA) - The State Bank ofVietnam set the daily reference exchange rate at 23,137 VND per USD on December 7, down 5 VND from the last working day of previous week.

With the currenttrading band of  +/-3 percent, the ceiling rate applied to commercial banksduring the day is 23,831 VND/USD and the floor rate, 22,443 VND/USD.

The opening hour ratesat most commercial banks remained stable.

At 8:25 am, Vietcombank listed thebuying rate at 23,010 VND/USD and the selling rate at 23,220 VND/USD, unchanged from December 4.

BIDV also kept bothrates unchanged at 23,040 VND/USD (buying) and 23,220 VND/USD (selling).

Techcombank added 2 VND to both rates, listing the buying rate at 23,022VND/USD and the selling rate at 23,222 VND/USD.

During the week from November 30 to December4, the daily reference exchange rate followed a downward trend throughout theweek. It ended the week down 13 VND from the rate at the week’s beginning.

The rates listed atmost commercial banks also ended the week lower than on Monday./.
