Hanoi (VNA) - The State Bank of Vietnam set thedaily reference exchange rate for the US dollar at 23,101 VND/USD on April 8, down4 VND from the previous day.

With the current trading band of +/-3 percent, theceiling rate applicable to commercial banks during the day is 23,794 VND/USDand the floor rate 22,407 VND/USD.

The opening-hour rates at commercial banks sawslight fluctuations.

At 8:28 am, Vietcombank listed the buying rate at22,690 VND/USD and the selling rate at 23,000 VND/USD, unchanged from theclosing-hour rates on April 7.

Meanwhile, BIDV cut 5 VND from both rates, listingthe buying rate at 22,715 VND/USD and the selling rate at 22,995 VND/USD.

During the week from April 4 to 8, the dailyreference exchange rate followed an upward trend before going down on Friday andended the week 3 VND higher than the rate on Monday. /.
