Reference exchange rate continues downward trend into new week

The State Bank of Vietnam set the daily reference exchange rate at 23,099 VND per USD on June 14, down 2 VND from the last working day of the previous week (June 11).

Hanoi (VNA) - The State Bank of Vietnam set the dailyreference exchange rate at 23,099 VND per USD on June 14, down 2 VND from the lastworking day of the previous week (June 11).

With the current trading band of +/- 3 percent, the ceiling rateapplied to commercial bank during the day is 23,791 VND/USD and the floor rate22,406 VND/USD.

The rates listed at commercial banks stayed stable.

At8:20 am, the rates at Vietcombank stood at 22,820 VND/USD (buying) and 23,050VND/USD (selling), unchanged from June 11.

BIDV also kept both rates unchanged at 22,847 (buying) and 23,047 VND/USD(selling).

Similarly, Vietinbank maintained both rates at the same levelsas on June 11 at 22,820 (buying) and 23,040 VND/USD (selling).

During the week from May 31 to June 4, the daily reference exchange rate wasadjusted up on Monday but then around to follow a downward trend until the endof the week. It ended the week down 39 VND compared to the rate on Monday./.
