Quang Tri offers incentives for businesses investing in high-tech agriculture

The central coastal province of Quang Tri has been adopting a number of preferential policies to attract investment in high-tech agriculture for the 2018-2021 period.

Quang Tri(VNA) – The central coastal province of Quang Tri has been adopting a number ofpreferential policies to attract investment in high-tech agriculture for the2018-2021 period.

Accordingly, businesses investing in this fieldwill be supported with 50 percent of their cost for land recovery andcompensation.

The province will also offer free land leases orremove the agricultural tax for enterprises with production cooperationcontracts during their projects’ first five years.

Some foreign firms have been quick to makeinvestments in Quang Tri’s high-tech agriculture sector.

For example, Japan’s ISE Food has alreadyinvested in processing cattle feed and building chicken farms in Trieu Phongand Vinh Linh districts.

Sumitomo, another Japanese company, issupporting the production of melons with the application of high technology inGio Linh district.

The promotion of investment in high-techagriculture is expected to help the province restructure its agricultureindustry towards increasing high value-added products and dealing with theeffects of climate change. –VNA
