A bomb weighing 266kg was defused in Coc Hamlet, Huong Linh commune, Huong Hoa District, the central province of Quang Tri on January 11.

Hanoi (VNA) – A bombweighing 266kg was defused in Coc Hamlet, Huong Linh commune, Huong HoaDistrict, the central province of Quang Tri on January 11.

It was found about two metres underthe ground by workers who were installing grids for a wind power project in thelocality.

The MK82 bomb is is believed to have been made and dropped by the USmilitary during war.

Local defence forces have moved the bomb to ashooting range for detonation.-VNA
