Quang Ninh vows to create optimal conditions for Taiwanese investors

The northern province of Quang Ninh always prioritises calling for investment from and creating the most favourable conditions for investors from Taiwan (China), especially in the fields of processing, manufacturing, electronics and semiconductor industries in its industrial zones.

Quang Ninh (VNA) – The northern province of Quang Ninh alwaysprioritises calling for investment from and creating the most favourableconditions for investors from Taiwan (China), especially in the fields ofprocessing, manufacturing, electronics and semiconductor industries in itsindustrial zones.

The statement was made by Chairman of the provincialPeople’s Committee Nguyen Tuong Van during an online conference on promoting investment in the province on November 9.

Shi Ruiqi, Chief Representative of the TaipeiEconomic - Cultural Office in Hanoi, highly appreciated the investment environment ofVietnam in general and Quang Ninh in particular, especially in the transportinfrastructure system.

He said Quang Ninh is a Vietnamese locality worth being invested in byTaiwanese enterprises, as the province has topped theProvincial Competitiveness Index (PCI) for four consecutive years, and the localauthorities have taken the initiative in supporting investors.

With 16 industrial parks, three border gate economic zonesand two coastal economic zones, covering a total area of 377,670 ha, Quang Ninhprovince eexpects to continue attracting Taiwaneseinvestors, particularly in the processing, manufacturing, electronics andsemiconductor industries.

In addition, Quang Ninh has high-quality human resources andskilled workers. In 2020, the rate of trained workers is estimated at 85percent, much higher than the country's average rate of about 65 percent.

Taiwan has run more than 2,800 investment projects worth over 35billion USD, ranking fourth among countries and territories pouring capitalinto Vietnam. There are currently 10 Taiwanese-invested projects worth 138.48million USD in Quang Ninh province./.
