QuangNinh (VNA) - The 2017 Vietnam-ChinaInternational Trade Fair will take place in Mong Cai city, Quang Ninh province,northern Vietnam from December 1-7, according to the organisers.
The event, the 12th of its kind held on a rotational basis by Quang Ninh andGuangxi of China, is expected to host have 400 pavilions, including 300 ofVietnamese businesses and 100 Chinese ones.
It will feature products from Vietnam and China, including agricultural andaquatic products, machines, equipment, electronic appliances, and handicrafts.
Tourism, trade and investment promotion workshops will be held to introduce MongCai city’s potential to domestic and foreign investors.
Exhibitions, art performances, sports exchanges will also take place on thesidelines of the event.
Quang Ninh has a coastline of more than 250 kilometres and some 2,000 islets which account for two-thirds of the total in Vietnam. The spectacular stretch of coast connects the UNESCO-recognised World Heritage Site of Ha Long Bay with majestic natural scenery, Bai Tu Long Bay, Van Don and Co To islands and Tra Co beach with Cat Ba National Park in the northern port city of Hai Phong.
Along with the renowned Ha Long Bay, Quan Lan, Minh Chau, Ngoc Vung, Dai beaches in Van Don island district and Tra Co and Vinh Thuc in Mong Cai city have grown in stature among tourists thanks to their breathtaking seas and coral reefs.
Quang Ninh shares a 132.8km land border with Fangcheng district and Dongxing city of China’s Guangxi province.
China is currently Vietnam’s top trade partner while Vietnam is China’s biggest partner in ASEAN and the ninth biggest in the world.
Vietnam’s statistics showed that bilateral trade reached 71.9 billion USD in 2016, up 7.9 percent over the previous year. The country’s trade deficit with China fell 13.67 percent year on year.
By the end of August 2017, trade between the two countries had hit 55.2 billion USD, up 23.59 percent from a year earlier, with Vietnam running a deficit of 17.7 billion USD, down 5.76 percent.-VNA
