The PetroVietnam Exploration Production Corporation (PVEP) extracted2.8 million tonnes of oil equivalent in the first half of 2015,representing 101 percent of the six-month target and 48 percent of theannual plan.
The exploited amount broughtVietnam’s reserves up to 8.49 million tonnes of oil equivalent, whichrepresents 57 percent of its annual plan for exploration projects, theSai Gon Giai Phong (Liberated Saigon) newspaper reported.
From January to June, the PVEP signed four oil and gas contracts withVietnamese and foreign partners, and assessed 48 oil well investmentprojects in other countries, including Cuba, the US and Iraq, in orderto increase national oil and gas reserves.-VNA
