Hanoi (VNA) – Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc highlighted the importance ofcooperation in the fields of knowledge, technical assistance and technology transfervia the Republic of Korea’s investments in Vietnam while receiving formerMinister of Policy Coordination of the RoK Yoon Dae-hee inHanoi on March 29.

The PM said he isglad to see the former minister again and told him that the RoK has become oneof the largest and most important investment and trade partner of Vietnam.

He spoke highly of the RoK guest’s activities pertaining to technicalassistance and the sharing of knowledge and experience.

The former minister, for his part, said the Korean people are very keen tolearn about bilateral cooperation with Vietnam, especially high-level meetingsof the countries’ leaders.

He spoke of his special attention to the knowledge-sharing programme betweenthe two countries given it will contribute to Vietnam’s socio-economic growth.

A fast growth can beachieved with investments in knowledge development and human resourcestraining, especially vocational training, he said, suggesting the VietnameseGovernment focus on improving the quality of human resources and expandingcooperative ties with foreign partners for its successes.

He also showed his keen interest in working together with the VietnameseGovernment, ministries and sectors to find development paths for Vietnam’seconomy.

PM Phuc appreciated the former minister’s opinions and expressed his wishesthat the RoK will share its knowledge and experience in integrating intensivelyand extensively into the world with Vietnam given the country has been meetinga lot of hurdles, difficulties and challenges during the course.

Human resources training is a big issue of Vietnam, he said, showing his hopefor having long-term cooperation and valuable ideas and consultancy from theformer minister for the Vietnamese Government as practical actions tocontribute to the growing Vietnam-RoK relations. - VNA
