Hanoi (VNA) - Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung and six ministers fielded questions raised by lawmakers at the 10th ongoing session of the 13th National Assembly in Hanoi on November 18.

The Government leader accounted for issues of NA deputies and constituents’ interests such as the socio-economic performance so far this year, the socialist-oriented market economy, the implementation of the 2030 UN Agenda on sustainable development, the multidimensional poverty reduction, and labour-related matters in the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) agreement.

He also explained the Government’s plans of action amidst the complicated developments in the East Sea, including sovereignty disputes, and the relations between Vietnam and China.

Questions posed to the Minister for Natural Resources and Environment focused on the issuance of land use right certificate in Hanoi and measures to handle law violations in this field.

The Minister of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs was asked to explain the adjustments of pensions, while the Minister of Science and Technology was grilled on the development and effective application of high technology in economic development and agriculture

The Minister of Construction was queried about the management and the issuance of construction permit for multistory buildings in urban areas, as well as the wastefulness and losses of State capital in capital construction.

NA deputies’ questions to the Minister of Planning and Investment focused on investment using capital from the State budget and Government bonds; and incentives for small and medium sized enterprises.

Deputies also raised questions for the NA Chairman about a number of procedures in the NA’s operation.

The unprecedented Q&A session with the presence of all government members was broadcast live on national television and radio and other mass media to allow constituents nationwide to follow.

In the afternoon, the NA discussed contentious points in the draft Law on the Organisation of Criminal Investigation Agencies.-VNA
