Hanoi (VNA) – President Tran Dai Quang’s freshly-concluded State visits toIndia and Bangladesh have gained successes in all spheres, said VietnameseDeputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Dang Dinh Quy.

Answeringreporters’ question about outcomes of President Quang’s visits to India andBangladesh from March 2-6, the official said the President and Indian andBangladeshi leaders reached a high consensus on major orientations to enhance relationsbetween Vietnam and the two nations.

ThePresident’s Indian trip has helped materialise contents of the Vietnam-Indiacomprehensive strategic partnership while strengthening the bilateralrelationship. Meanwhile, the traditional friendship between Vietnam andBangladesh has also been lifted to a new height, more effectively and tangibly,Quy said.

Throughdiscussions, leaders and delegations of Vietnam and India and Bangladeshunderstood more about their countries’ important role in the respectivecountries’ foreign policies, he noted. 

Theleaders agreed on pragmatic measures with focus on connectivity, firstlybetween citizens, especially businesspeople, then aviation and navigationlinks, the official said.

Quyfurther explained that the connectivity helps bring Vietnam closer to Dhaka andNew Delhi while tapping cooperation potential between Vietnam and the two nations,for the sake of their people, and for peace, stability and development in theregion and the world.

Askedabout President Quang’s speech before Indian politicians, professors, researchers, scholarsand students at the Nehru Memorial Museum and Library in New Delhi, Quy saidthe leader sent a message that Vietnam and India enhance their comprehensivestrategic partnership for more prosperous and developed Indo-Pacific and Asianregions, for common interests of all regional countries, and for peace andstability in the world.

During his visits, alongwith seeking measures to step up bilateral ties in the coming time, thePresident met with representatives from different sectors, especially witnessesof the time-honoured relations, to review the foundations of the relations, Quystressed.

Regarding economic, tradeand investment links between Vietnam and India and Bangladesh, Quy said hefirmly believes that potential for economic and trade cooperation betweenVietnam and the two countries, which are developing rapidly with annual GDPgrowth rate exceeding 7 percent in recent years, will be tapped in the time aheadif they know how to turn political determination and connectivity efforts intoreality and utilise opportunities generated by globalisation.-VNA
