Meeting with Angolan Interior Minister Angelo de Barros V.Tavares inHanoi on October 21, the State leader expressed his belief thatAngola will reap further successes in its national reconstruction.
He spoke highly of the two countries’ flourishing collaboration inhealth and education and asked both sides to increase mutual support atinternational forums.
The Angolan minister thankedVietnam for its support to his country as a candidate for anon-permanent seat at the United Nations.
Briefingthe outcomes of a working session between the Angolan Ministry ofInterior and the Vietnamese Ministry of Public Security, the officialsaid the newly-inked agreement on public security and order cooperationwill open up new orientations for bilateral collaboration in the timeahead.
Earlier the same day, Minister Angelo deBarros V.Tavares had talks with Vietnamese Minister of Public SecurityGeneral Tran Dai Quang.
Minister Quang hailed theAngolan delegation’s visit as a milestone in the development ofbilateral cooperation in preventing crime and ensuring security andorder in each country, thus helping deepen the traditional friendshipbetween the two nations.
For his part, the Angolanminister congratulated Vietnam on its socio-economic achievementsover the past years and expressed his wish for result-orientedcooperation for the interests of the two peoples.
During the talks, the two sides exchanged their views on regional andinternational security-related issues, particularly human trafficking,drug and high-tech crimes, and those involving the two countries’citizens.
They agreed to increase the exchange ofdelegations to further share information and experience in crimeprevention and investigation.
The ministries willalso bolster ties in training personnel and protecting representativeagencies and the legitimate rights and interests of their citizens inthe other nation.
On behalf of the Vietnamese andAngolan Governments, the two ministers signed an agreement oncooperation in public security and order.-VNA
