President Sang welcomes new ambassadors

State President Truong Tan Sang met with new ambassadors who presented their credentials in Hanoi on September 17.


State President Truong Tan Sang met with the new ambassadors of theRepublic of Sierra Leone, the Republic of Iceland, the Republic ofTunisia, the United Republic of Tanzania, the Republic of Guatemala, theRepublic of Gruzia, and the Republic of Mali who presented theircredentials in Hanoi on September 17.

PresidentSang congratulated Sierra Leone Ambassador Vicktor Bockarie Foh;Icelandic Ambassador Stefan Skjaldarson; Tunisian Ambassador Tarel Amri;Tanzanian Ambassador Abduhrahaman Amiri Shimbo; Guatemalan AmbassadorGustavo A. Lopez Calderon; Gruzian Ambassador David Aptsiauri; and MaliAmbassador Lansina Buah Kone on their new roles as ambassadors toVietnam.

Greeting the newly appointed ambassadors,President Sang affirmed that Vietnam would create conditions for the newambassadors to accomplish their duties in Vietnam and said he hoped thenew ambassadors’ governments would back Vietnam’s candidacies for theUNESCO Executive Council 2015-2019, the UN Economic and Social Council(ECOSOC) 2016-2018, and the UN Security Council 2020-2021, as well asrecognising Vietnam’s full market economy status.

Ontheir parts, the new ambassadors expressed their delight at beingappointed ambassadors to Vietnam and pledged to do their utmost tofoster political and economic ties with Vietnam.-VNA
