In the letter on the occasion of Vietnam Labour Skills Day (October 4), the President wrote that the workforce withhigh qualifications, skills and efficiency is an invaluable resource and a decisivefactor for the development of each nation.
On the first days of national independence, President Ho ChiMinh reminded that Vietnamese people should have knowledge so that they canparticipate in the process of national construction and cadres must work methodicallyin addition to working hard.
Nowadays, the trend of strong globalisation andinternational integration and impacts of the fourth Industrial Revolution arerequiring an urgency for the enhancement of labour skills, he wrote, addingthat therefore, WorldSkills International had recommended nations to focus ondeveloping skills for labourers via different forms.
The Vietnamese Party and State have always paidattention to and actively issued many policies to develop labour skills. In fact,the skilled workforce, especially highly-skilled labourers, have made greatcontributions to the country’s socio-economic development.
On behalf of Party and State leaders, President Phucrecommended and acknowledged the great contributions of labourers, agencies, organisations,and the business community to the cause of national development.
On the occasion of the Vietnam Labour Skills Day, thePresident called on employees nationwide to continuously study and improve professionalskills, innovate themselves to enhance productivity and labour efficiency,especially amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
He proposed the National Assembly, Government and thelabour, invalids and social affairs sector as well as relevant ministries, localities,agencies, organisations prioritise resources, mechanisms and policies, and takedrastic actions to step up skilled human resource development and universaliseoccupations for young people.
The State leader expressed his hope that the businesscommunity and employers will actively participate in providing training toenhance professional skills for employees, particularly those affected by thepandemic.
President Phuc firmly believed that Vietnameselabourers always uphold their qualifications and competence to rise up instudy, labour and production, thus helping the country to push back the COVID-19pandemic and promote sustainable development and prosperity in the comingtime./.
