Hanoi (VNA) – The Central Vietnam Power Project Management Board (CPMB) has decided to cut power for 63 days and nights, starting from November 29, to ensure comprehensive implementation of power line projects in the central region.
The campaign aims to mobilise as many resources as possible to accelerate the installation of the 220kV 84.6km-long cable line in Vung Ang – Ba Don – Dong Hoi area and the 220kV electricity transformer in Ba Don to ensure electricity supplies for the 110kV transformers in the Song Gianh and Van Hoa cement factories.
The first phase of the campaign will cover the Formosa – Ba Don 220kV 30.68km-long section, which is expected to be connected to the grid network by January 24, 2016, while the transformer will start operating by the end of December.
In the second phase of the campaign, another 42.83km of power lines from Ba Don and Dong Hoi will be installed and put into operation by January 31, 2016.
The Vung Ang – Ba Don – Dong Hoi network, an urgent project approved by the Prime Minister, runs through the central provinces of Ha Tinh and Quang Binh.
The project aims to strengthen the 220kV North-Centre grid to improve the quality and safety of the north central region’s electricity supply.
The 220kV transformer in Ba Don is expected to ensure the continuity of electricity for the region, while saving power loss of the network.-VNA
