They reviewed areas of bilateral cooperation anddiscussed ways to further strengthen the traditional friendship andcollaboration so as to work towards the establishment of a suitable partnershipbetween Vietnam and Mexico in the time ahead.
They agreed to keep close coordination tosustain the upward trend in their countries’ ties, promote high-level mutualvisits and meetings when possible, effectively maintain cooperation mechanisms,and encourage contact and cooperation in different forms between Vietnamese andMexican ministries and sectors.
Vietnamese and Mexican officials at the political consultation on July 21 (Photo: VNA)For her part, Toscano affirmed Vietnam is one ofthe important political and economic partners of her country in Asia,especially when both are members of the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreementfor Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP).
The two officials agreed to step up negotiationson some agreements so as to complete the legal framework for cooperation insuch spheres as politics - diplomacy, economy - finance, security - defence,plant and animal quarantine, and education - training.
They also exchanged views on some internationaland regional issues of common concern, agreeing to continue coordination andmutual support at international organisations and multilateral forums of whichVietnam and Mexico are members such as the United Nations, the World TradeOrganisation (WTO), and the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) forum.
The two countries will also work to enhance tiesbetween the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) and the PacificAlliance, they added./.
