The PM conveyed regards of Party General SecretaryNguyen Phu Trong, President Vo Van Thuong and other Party and State leaders ofVietnam to the Chinese leader, and noted his wish that under the soundleadership of the Communist Party of China (CPC), China will successfullyachieve its 2nd centenary goal, turning itself into a great modern socialistcountry that is prosperous, strong, democratic, culturally advanced, harmoniousand beautiful.
In reply, Xi asked Chinh to convey his regards to theVietnamese Party and State leaders, and congratulated Vietnam on its socio-economicachievements.
China supports and believes that under the leadershipof the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) headed by Party chief Trong, Vietnamwill successfully materialise the Resolution adopted at the 13th National Party Congress, becoming a socialist-oriented, developed, upper-incomenation by the mid-21st century, he said.
Both leaders noted with pleasure positive developmentsof the Vietnam-China relationship, and shared the view that it has been avaluable common asset that needs to be preserved and promoted.
Vietnam persistently supports the “One-China”principle and is interested in China’s global initiatives and stands ready todiscuss with the country about them, Chinh continued.
Xi also affirmed that China considers Vietnam apriority in its neighbourhood diplomacy, saying this is China’s strategicoption during the long-term development of the bilateral ties.
China also wishes and stands ready to promoterelations between the two Parties and countries, making them more intensive andsubstantive, he said.
Chinh used the occasion to suggest China acceleratethe market opening for Vietnamese agricultural products, create conditions forthe country to soon open more trade promotion offices in China, give more quotafor Vietnamese goods in transit to a third country by China’s railway, andconsider cooperation in developing a standard, high-speed railway connectingthe two countries.
He welcomed Chinese businesses to expandhigh-quality investment in Vietnam, and expressed his hope for enhancedpeople-to-people exchanges.
Xi pledged that China will help developing countries speedup their development and their cause of industrialisation and modernisation,noting China is willing to work together with Vietnam in maintaining strategicexchanges, promoting all-level exchanges, expanding the import of Vietnamesegoods, and enhancing rail, road, border gate infrastructure connectivity.
The two countries should step up the information workto raise public awareness of their friendship, and soon organise meetings for youngpeople, he went on.
Xi also welcomed Vietnam to participate inChina’s global initiatives, for peace, cooperation and development in theregion and the world.
The two sides exchanged views on regional andinternational issues of shared concern, and consented to coordinate in controllingand satisfactorily addressing disagreements, maintaining peace and stability atsea, and consolidating the favourable environment for development of eachcountry./.
