Hanoi (VNA) - Prime MinisterNguyen Xuan Phuc hosted a reception in Hanoi on June 13 for Chairman of the Republic of Korea (RoK)-VietnamParliamentary Friendship Group Kim Hak-yong.

PM Phuc praised the important role played by parliamentarians of the RoK-Vietnam Parliamentary FriendshipGroup and the Vietnam-RoK ParliamentaryFriendship Group.

Having affirmedthat Vietnam always attaches importance to promoting cooperative relations withthe RoK, he said Vietnam wants to closely coordinate with the Korean side todevelop the strategic cooperative partnership between the two nations to a newheight.

The PM highlighted thestrong, intensive and effective development of the bilateral relations inrecent years, thereby helping to enhance political trust and mutualunderstanding between the two countries.

PM Phuc said that the Vietnamese Government always pays heed to solving issuesrelated to Korean enterprises operating in Vietnam, adding that theirinvestment in the Southeast Asian country has contributed to promoting Vietnam-RoKexchanges and cooperation.

He expressed his hope that the RoK will continue to support Vietnam in allfields, including security-defence and sports and especially in football, whilecalling for more efforts from both sides to push forwards the bilateralrelationship and raise two-way trade to 100 billion USD by 2020.

Forhis part, Kim congratulated Vietnam on its socio-economic development achievementsin recent years and thanked the Vietnamese Government and people for creatingfavourable conditions for Korean businesses and nationals living and working inVietnam.

He pledged to make strong efforts,together with members of the RoK-VietnamParliamentary Friendship Group, to foster the development of relationsbetween the two countries.-VNA
