Hanoi (VNA) –Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh on October 16 presided over a meeting on theworking relations between the government and the Vietnam General Confederation ofLabour in 2021 and orientations for the next year.
Confederation PresidentNguyen Dinh Khang said that in the first 9 months of this year, amid thecomplex development of the COVID-19 pandemic, the trade union has been goingalong with the government and firms in the pandemic fight and care for workersaffected by the pandemic.
The confederation askedthe government and the PM to direct relevant ministries and sectors, localauthorities on a number of issues such as ensuring the interests and socialwelfares of the workers.
The government’s officesaid the cabinet and the confederation have been collaborating well incontributing to achieving the goal of socio-economic development and protectionof legal and legitimate rights of the workers. The government, the PM, theministries and sectors, and local authorities have issued many policies ongoods supply, social welfare and job creation in support of the people andfirms affected by the pandemic.
Participants discussedthe outcomes of the collaboration, orientations, tasks and measures to improvethe relations in the time to come.
PM Chinh spoke highly ofthe active response by the trade unions and workers to the pandemic fight. Forthe time to come, he asked them to continue going along with the whole countryin the fight and economic recovery./.
