PM orders investigation into low-quality fishing vessel building

Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc has assigned the Ministry of Public Security and authorised agencies to investigate the building of low quality fishing vessels in Binh Dinh and other localities.

Hanoi (VNA) – Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuchas assigned the Ministry of Public Security and authorised agencies toinvestigate the building of low quality fishing vessels in the south centralprovince of Binh Dinh and some other localities as reported by the mediarecently.

The new vessels were built under the Government’sDecree 67/2014/ND-CP dated July 7, 2014 that offers a number of preferentialcapital policies for fishing boat building activities to facilitate fisheries.Some steel ships have reportedly been built at low quality, causing losses forthe ship owners.

The PM requested for a detail report on the investigationresults within August.

He also asked the Ministry of Agriculture and RuralDevelopment to work closely with the Ministry of Public Security during theinvestigation.-VNA
