Hanoi (VNA) – Prime Minister NguyenXuan Phuc will attend the second Belt and Road Forum for InternationalCooperation in Beijing, China, from April 25-27.

According to a press release by the Ministry ofForeign Affairs, the trip will be made at the invitation of General Secretaryof the Communist Party of China Central Committee and President Xi Jinping.

According to the National Development andReform Commission of China, the country’s investment in projects related to theBelt and Road initiative has totalled 60 billion USD since 2013. Most ofChina’s upcoming overseas investments will be put towards the initiative’smember nations.

Once completed, the Belt and Road Initiative isexpected to create a large economic and trade network, covering a region with4.4 billion people and a combined GDP of 21 trillion USD.–VNA
