Hanoi (VNA) – Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh had a meeting with President of Poland Andrzej Duda on June 25 on the sidelines of the 15th World Economic Forum (WEF) Annual Meeting of the New Champions in Dalian city, China’s Liaoning province.

Chinh said that Vietnam always follows and is delighted at the socio-economic achievements that Poland has recorded over the years, affirming that it attaches great importance to the traditional friendship and multifaceted cooperation with the European country and always remembers the valuable support and assistance that Poland provided Vietnam during its struggle for national construction and defence.

PM Chinh thanked Poland for supporting Vietnamese citizens victimised by the shopping centre fire in Warsaw in May.

The two sides shared the delight at the positive development of the Vietnam-Poland relationship in many areas. Heading to the 75th anniversary of bilateral diplomatic relations (1950-2025), they agreed to promote bilateral relations to a new height in the coming time.

PM Chinh proposed that the two countries continue beefing up their partnership through strengthening the exchange of delegations at all levels, especially the high level, increasing visits of officials via the Party channel, and promoting economic, trade, investment, cultural cooperation and people-to-people exchange.

He pledged that Vietnam will provide optimal conditions for the import of goods of Poland’s strengths such as machineries and ships.

The two sides should speed up the signing of a loan agreement for the project of building six new offshore search and rescue ships for which the Polish Government has committed to granting preferential credit to Vietnam, said the leader, adding that Vietnam hopes for Poland’s support in human resources training in the fields of basic training and shipbuilding.

PM Chinh suggested that Poland continue to create favourable conditions for the Vietnamese community in Poland to settle down, integrate well into the host society, and actively contribute to the socio-economic development of Poland and the sound traditional friendship between Vietnam and Poland.

For his part, Polish President Andrzej Duda expressed his impression at Vietnam's socio-economic achievements, underlining that Vietnam is Poland's current biggest partner in Southeast Asia. He hailed the contributions by the Vietnamese community in Poland.

The Polish leader said he hopes Vietnam will create favourable conditions for Polish firms to export goods to Vietnam and strengthen cooperation with their Vietnamese peers in new areas such as renewable energy and tourism./.
