He made thestatement while receiving new Ambassador of Brunei Pengiran Haji SahariBin Pengiran Haji Salleh in Hanoi on April 24.
The governmentleader suggested holding the first session of the Vietnam – Brunei JointCommittee soon, during which both sides will look at how to tap theirstrengths in trade, investment, farming and aquaculture, among otherareas.
Underscoring the importance of maintaining peace,stability, freedom and maritime and aviation security in the East Sea,PM Dung proposed Brunei and relevant countries continue assertingASEAN’s stance, mentioned in its Declaration on Six-Point Principles onthe East Sea.
He called for the settlement of disputes bypeaceful means in line with international law, especially the 1982United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea, while fully realisingthe Declaration on the Conduct of Parties in the East Sea in earnest andreaching the Code of Conduct in the East Sea soon.
Theambassador vowed to liaison with Vietnamese and Brunei agencies, duringhis working term, to carry bilateral ties forward.-VNA
