Hanoi (VNA) –
Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc on February 17congratulated the Government Inspectorate of Vietnam and the RussianPresidential Anti-Corruption Directorate on their expanded anti-corruptioncooperation.

Ata reception for Chief of the Russian Presidential Anti-Corruption DirectorateChobotov Andrey Sergeevich in Hanoi, the PM lauded effective cooperationactivities between the two agencies like the sharing of information andexperience in corruption combat.

Hestressed that Vietnam attaches importance to anti-corruption work, consideringthis an important task and one of the top priorities in building aprofessional, modern and efficient administrative system.

Manycorruption cases have been brought to light in Vietnam, he said, adding thatthe political system and mass organisations have always kept a close watch onthe efforts.

Theleader rejoiced at achievements Russia has recorded over the past time, sayingthey have greatly contributed to global peace and stability.

Hedescribed the time-tested partnership between Vietnam and Russia as a valuableasset shared by the two peoples, and expressed his belief that the Russiandelegation’s visit will contribute to boosting the bilateral friendship andcollaboration.

PMPhuc suggested Vietnam and Russia strengthen their cooperation in economy,trade, investment and other spheres.

TheVietnamese Government will facilitate the operation of Russian businesses, hepledged, calling on the Russian side to create optimal conditions forVietnamese firms to operate in the country.

Asthe Chair of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) in 2020, Vietnamhopes to welcome the Russian President to visit the country this year, PM Phuc said.

Forhis part, the Russian official said his visit aims to strengthen cooperationbetween the two agencies, thus contributing to promoting the Vietnam-Russiaties.

Hebriefed his host on major cooperation orientations in the next five years asagreed by the two agencies, with collaboration in new areas expected to beenhanced.

Thetwo sides also agreed to organise an anti-corruption conference in Russia inthe time ahead, as part of the activities marking the 70th foundinganniversary of the Vietnam-Russia diplomatic ties, he said./.
