PM inspects COVID-19 prevention and control in Dong Nai province

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh on August 27 inspected COVID-19 prevention and control in Thanh Phu commune in Vinh Cuu district of southern Dong Nai province, and worked with provincial leaders on the fight against the pandemic.

DongNai (VNA) – Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh on August 27 inspected COVID-19prevention and control in Thanh Phu commune in Vinh Cuu district of southernDong Nai province, and worked with provincial leaders on the fight against thepandemic.

In Thanh Phu commune, PM Chinh extended his encouragement to front-line forcesand volunteers joining the COVID-19 combat as well as local residents in lockeddown areas. He also examined food and foodstuff supplies, COVID-19 vaccinationand local medical stations.

The PM spoke highly of Vinh Cuu district’s efforts to prepare abundant foodsupplies and put into operation tens of mobile medical stations to providetimely treatment for COVID-19 patients.

In a later working session with provincial leaders, PM Chinh highly evaluatedthe leadership and direction of the Party Committee and administration of DongNai as well as consensus and support of local people in COVID-19 prevention andcontrol, thus helping to gradually control the pandemic and limit deaths.

As the pandemic has been still developing complicatedly in Bien Hoa city andNhon Trach and Vinh Cuu districts, the government leader asked provincialauthorities to strengthen social distancing measures in these localities.

Dong Nai must consider each commune, ward and town as a fortress and eachresident as a soldier, he said, adding that administrations at all levels must placepeople at the centre of the fight against COVID-19, meaning local authoritiesmust care for people’s lives while people have to participate in combating thepandemic.

He also requested provincial authorities to pay attention to social welfare andensuring security and order, and safety of people in sealed off areas.

PM Chinh asked the Ministry of Health and relevant ministries and agencies toprovide more human resources and medical equipment and supplies to support DongNai province.

Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Cao Tien Dung reported at the workingsession that Dong Nai had recorded nearly 21,000 COVID-19 cases. The provincehas conducted mass testing so as to early detect infections in the communityand striven to control the pandemic by the end of this month, he added./.
