Hanoi (VNA) – Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung hosted a reception in Hanoi on February 23 for Tsutomu Takebe, special advisor to the Japan-Vietnam Friendship Parliamentary Alliance, during which he asked for the guest’s further contributions to the two countries’ agricultural cooperation.
Delighted at the fine development of the Vietnam-Japan Extensive Strategic Partnership, the PM affirmed that Vietnam attaches special importance to the nations’ ties and believes the relations will grow further, bringing about benefit for both countries and contributing to peace, stability, cooperation and development in the region and the world.
Regarding the Vietnam-Japan University project, the Government leader confirmed Vietnam is willing to coordinate with Japan to put the university into operation early.
Tsutomu Takebe stated that with his 20-year experience in attending exchange activities in bilateral ties, he will do his utmost to further enhance the two countries’ strategic partnership.
He informed the host that the Vietnam-Japan University will be inaugurated on September 9.
The Japanese side is preparing for the organisation of the Japan-Vietnam Cultural Festival in November, and plans to bring a delegation of Japanese enterprises to Vietnam later this year.-VNA
