Hanoi (VNA) – Vietnam wants Japanese and Osaka firms to expand operationsin the country, especially in farm produce processing and consumption, supportindustry, health care and technological transfer, said Prime Minister NguyenXuan Phuc.

Duringa reception in Hanoi on November 23 for President of the Osaka Chamber ofCommerce and Industry Hiroshi Ozaki, the PM described Japan as Vietnam’sleading economic partner, the largest supplier of official developmentassistance, the second largest investor and the fourth largest trade partner.

Hepledged to direct ministries, agencies and localities to offer all possiblesupport to Japanese businesses in any field of their demand and in anylocality.

Thehost suggested that the Osaka Chamber of Commerce and Industry work closelywith the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry to further promote businesspartnership in localities, adding that Vietnam encourages Japanese and Osakaenterprises to become strategic shareholders that actively join equitisation ofState-owned enterprises in the country.

Ozaki,for his part, said Osaka firms want to seek opportunities in advanced andeco-friendly technology, urban development and energy and are willing topartner with Vietnam in fields of strength such as exploitation and processingof aquatic products, health care and tourism.

ReceivingChairman of SK Group of the Republic of Korea Chey Tae-won the same day, Phuchailed the group for joining in the equitisation of the State-owned enterprisesin Vietnam and committed all possible support to them during the process.

Hesuggested SK Group join a joint investment fund to support small andmedium-sized enterprises in Vietnam, especially start-ups.

ThePM wished that SK Group would continue assisting Vietnam in human resourcesdevelopment, semi-conductor industry and key infrastructure construction.

Chey,in reply, wished to extend investment in Vietnam, adding that SK Group is strongin green and eco-friendly industry.

Heproposed that Vietnam should build a strong data platform to adapt with theindustrial revolution 4.0 as well as improve workforce quality.-VNA
