Hanoi (VNA)  — Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc has decidedto establish a national steering committee on restructuring the economy andrenewing the growth model.

The committee will be headed by the Prime Minister.Deputy Prime Minister Vuong Dinh Hue is assigned as the Standing Deputy Chairmanof the committee while Minister of Planning and Investment Nguyen Chi Dung willbe the committee’s Deputy Chairman.

The committee will help the Government and the PM indirecting and co-ordinating with relevant ministries, agencies and localitiesto implement the restructuring of the economy and the renewal of the growthmodel.

It is responsible for studying, reviewing andproposing the Government and the PM positive and negative case studies inefforts to implement the restructuring of the economy and the renewal of thegrowth model in sectors and localities; and recommending Party and Stateeconomic policies.

The committee will review and propose theGovernment, the PM and authorised agencies abolish and amend legal documentsthat hinder the restructuring of the economy.

It will also assess and supervise the implementationof action plans of ministries, agencies, localities, State corporations andgroups, and other relevant organisations in efforts to create and implement anew growth model. -VNA
