PM approves Quang Binh solar power project adjustments

Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc has approved adjustments to the solar power project in the central province of Quang Binh, which is funded by the Republic of Korea’s official development assistance.

Quang Binh (VNA) - Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuchas approved adjustments to the solar power project in the central province ofQuang Binh, which is funded by the Republic of Korea’s official developmentassistance.

Under the project, solar panels will be installed in householdsand administrative buildings in hamlets in communes that the national grid hasnot reached.

The project will be carried out in eight border communes of fourdistricts – Ngan Thuy and Kim Thuy of Le Thuy district, Truong Xuan and TruongSon of Quang Ninh district, Thuong Trach, Tan Trach and Son Trach of Bo Trach districtand Trong Hoa of Minh Hoa district.

The project is expected to provide solar power to more than1,200 households in 40 hamlets once it is completed on July 1, 2018.

The 13.7 million USD project was launched on July 1, 2015, withthe initial aim that 46 hamlets in nine communes in the four districts getaccess to solar electricity. It was scheduled to begin operation in the fourthquarter of this year. — VNA
