Tokyo (VNA) – Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe said on November 30 thathe wants stronger cooperation between his country’s Liberal Democratic Partyand the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV).
Meetingwith head of the CPV Central Committee’s Organisation Commission Pham MinhChinh in Tokyo, Abe express his delight at the growth of the two countries’relations, stressing that their increasing political trust is a solidfoundation for effective cooperation and will bring about practical interestsfor the two peoples.
Japanwill keep its high attention and priority for the comprehensive cooperation with Vietnam, he said, noting that he will direct Japan’sauthorised agencies to actively assist Vietnam in training officials.
He addedhis country is ready to cooperate with and help the Southeast Asian nation tobuild high-quality infrastructure.
He voicedhis hope for the best possible conditions for a visit to Vietnam by theJapanese Emperor and Queen next spring.
For hispart, Chinh, who is a Politburo member, also rejoiced at the thriving extensivestrategic partnership between the countries. He highly valued theircollaboration in all spheres, particularly investment, trade and manpowertraining.
Hethanked the Japanese Government for effectively assisting the CPV in personneltraining and asked it to continue assistance in human resources training,administrative reform, and building a lean and effective State apparatus.
Hecongratulated Japan’s attainments in 2016 and wished it more important role inAsia-Pacific and around the world.
Also onNovember 30, Chinh had a meeting with Japanese Foreign Minister Fumio Kishida.They shared the view on the sound development of bilateral ties and affirmedthat on the basis of high-level agreements and the Joint Vision Statement onJapan-Vietnam Relations, their linkages will grow even more intensively.
Kishidasaid he will exert all efforts to help foster the countries’ relations. Hespoke highly of Vietnam’s role at regional and international forums, addingthat Japan will support Vietnam to host the APEC Summit in 2017.-VNA
