The PCG spokesman, Captain Armand Balilo, said the governmentwill spend about 20 million USD on the plan, adding that pistols, assault andsniffer rifles will be bought for the Special Operations Force, machine gunsfor small boat operations, and heavy machine guns for PCG vessels.
He said the acquisition of these weapons will beef up thePCG's capability for maritime security and law enforcement operations.
According to him, PCG has recently ordered 70 sub-machineguns 9 mm worth 200,000 USD, which were delivered on May 7.
PCG commandant, Rear Admiral Elson Hermogino, led theinspection of the newly-delivered Israeli-made weapons.-VNA
