Petrovietnam University meets ABET standards

Petrovietnam University (PVU), located in the southern province of Ba Ria-Vung Tau, has been the first in Vietnam to receive accreditation from the US’ Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET) for all of its training programmes for a maximum six-year period.

Hanoi (VNA) – Petrovietnam University(PVU), located in the southern province of Ba Ria-Vung Tau, has been the first in Vietnam to receive accreditation from the US’ Accreditation Boardfor Engineering and Technology (ABET) for all of its training programmes for amaximum six-year period.

The university is offering the three trainingprogrammes of geological engineering, petroleum engineering, and chemicalengineering.

ABET experts lauded structures of the university’s trainingprogrammes, as well as its modern materialfacilities and lab equipment.

Over the past time, the university has paidattention to building a contingent of high-quality lecturers, improvingteaching methods, enhancing both domestic and international cooperation, andupgrading its infrastructure.

The accreditation will help shorten the traininggap between domestic and international universities, and make it easier for PVUgraduates to seek jobs at groups and multi-national companies.

ABET is a nonprofit, ISO 9001 certified organisationthat accredits college and university programme in applied and natural science,computing, engineering and engineering technology./.
