Petrol price experiences fifth hike

Hanoi(VNA) - The domestic retail price of RON 92 petrol increased by 319 VND to 18,111VND (79 cents) per litre, as of 3pm on September 20.

The increase wasmade according to the latest decision of the ministries of industry and tradeand finance. It is the fifth straight rise of RON 92 petrol from July 20, with atotal rise value of 2,040 VND per litre.

The price of E5bio-fuel also rose by 297 VND to 17,836 VND per litre. The prices of diesel andkerosene were up by 491 VND and 568 VND per litre, standing at 14,441 VND and 13,115VND, respectively.

The Ministry ofIndustry and Trade and the Ministry of Finance also decided to keep using theprice stabilisation fund for RON92 petrol at 110 VND per litre. The use of thefund for E5 biofuel remained at 90 VND per litre.

Meanwhile, the useof the fund for diesel and kerosene was 180 VND and 110 VND, per litre.

From the beginningof this year, the petrol retail price faced 18 adjustments, including sevendecreases and eight hikes. -VNA
