Statistics from the ministry showed that during the first seven monthsof this year, Vietnam imported about 4.25 million tonnes of petrolvalued at nearly 4 billion USD, decreasing 26 percent and 28 percent,respectively, over the same period last year.
The ministryforecast the volume of petrol imports into the country for the full yearwould not be as high as that of last year.
Vietnam also neededto speed up work on oil refinery projects, especially at the Nghi Sonoil refinery, in an effort to further reduce petrol imports.-VNA
