Theremarks were made by Le Hoang Quan, Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh CityPeople’s Committee, during a solemn ceremony on June 9 to celebratethe 65th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh’s Appeal for PatrioticEmulation (June 11, 1948-2013) and the 5th anniversary of TraditionalDay for Patriotic Emulation (June 11, 2008-2013).
The event sawthe presence of Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung, who is also President ofthe Central Emulation and Reward Council, and Secretary of theMunicipal Party Committee Le Hoang Quan, among others.
Inrecounting the late President’s call and his launched emulationmovements, Chairman Quan emphasised that patriotic emulation movementhas been evolving strongly, turning out as a valuable tradition andleaving profound imprints that enriched national patriotism of theVietnamese nation.
During the ceremony, representatives oflabourers, war veterans and the youth talked about how they joinedpatriotic emulation movements and showed determination to make theseactivities more practical and efficient.
On the occasion,Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung presented emulation flag 2012 to HCMCity and the “For Emulation and Reward cause” insignias to municipalleaders.-VNA
