The Secretariat of the CPV Central Committee has ordered the Police Party Central Committee to further investigate into the case of organising gamble, gambling, fraud and money laundering in Phu Tho.

Hanoi (VNA) - The Secretariat of the CPVCentral Committee has ordered the Police Party Central Committee to coordinatewith relevant agencies in directing further investigation of the case oforganising gamble, gambling, fraud and money laundering in Phu Tho province.

The Secretariat held a meeting on March 11 underthe chair of Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong to listen to reports onthe case.

The Secretariat were of the view that this was avery serious, complicated and sensitive case of an especially large scaleinvolving hi-technology. The case involved numerous sectors, localities, and individuals,including members of the police force, and has drawn special public attention.

They noted that the Police Party Central Committeeand leaders of the Ministry of Public Security had proactively instructed theirunits and the Phu Tho provincial police to start criminal proceedings andinvestigation on the case, and report the initial results to the Secretariat.

The Secretariat asked the Police Party Central Committeeto collaborate with competent agencies to extend investigation into the case, clarifythe liabilities of involved parties, and handle the case in a strict, impartialand accurate manner in conformity with the law and regulations of the Party andState.-VNA
