Party, State leader lauds joint work between Vietnamese, Lao fronts

General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee and President Nguyen Phu Trong has lauded cooperation between the Lao Front for National Construction (LFNC) and the Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) over the past years.

Vientiane (VNA) – General Secretary of theCommunist Party of Vietnam Central Committee and President Nguyen Phu Trong haslauded cooperation between the Lao Front for National Construction (LFNC) and theVietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) over the past years.

During a reception in Vientiane on February 25 for Politburomember and President of the LFNC Central Committee Saysomphone Phomvihane,Trong said LFNC and VFF held diverse and practical activities to raise mutualunderstanding and friendship between the two countries’ people, making activeand effective contributions to boosting Vietnam – Laos ties in diverse areas.

He informed the guest about the outcomes of his talks withLao Party and State leaders, saying that both sides affirmed strategicsignificance of and determination to foster traditional friendship, specialsolidarity and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Laos in the newsituation, considering it an important factor to ensure success of eachcountry’s revolutionary cause and an invaluable asset of the two Parties andnations to pass on to later generations.

The leader highly valued the LFNC’s role in Laos’ politicalsystem with practical activities to unite people together to successfullyrealise national development goals under the leadership of the Lao People’sRevolutionary Party.

He wished that the two fronts would continue working closelytogether to enhance information and experience sharing and realise signedagreements.

In the near future, the two sides need to raise publicawareness of the great friendship, special solidarity and comprehensivepartnership between Vietnam and Laos, especially among young generations, hesaid.

Phomvihane, for his part, expressed his delight at the fact thatTrong chose Laos as the first country to visit in his new position asPresident.

He agreed with the Vietnamese leader’s proposal to furtherreinforce ties between the two fronts and their chapters, particularly betweenthe Vietnam – Laos, and Laos – Vietnam friendship associations.

Reporting Party General Secretary and President Trong on theoutcomes of joint work between the two fronts and friendship associations, hesaid both sides worked to carry out cooperation agreements, thus building aborderline of peace and friendship.

The LFNC partnered with the front organisations of Vietnamand Cambodia to hold and join multilateral activities and forums, thus boostingfriendship and solidarity among the three countries.

In the afternoon the same day, General Secretary andPresident of Laos Bounnhang Vorachith hosted a fare-well ceremony for theVietnamese leader and his entourage.
