Hanoi (VNA) - General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV)Central Committee Nguyen Phu Trong will pay an official visit to France betweenMarch 25-27 and a state visit to Cuba from March 28-30.
According to the CPV Central Committee’s Commission for External Relations, thevisits will be made at the invitation of French President Emmanuel Macron andFirst Secretary of the Communist Party of Cuba’s Central Committee andPresident of the Councils of State and Ministers Raul Castro Ruz, respectively.
Vietnam and France spare no efforts to enhance ties since the establishment ofdiplomatic relations in April 1973. More importantly, diplomatic relations havebeen tightened at both central and local government levels. France has been oneof Vietnam’s most important partners in the international arena. Thepartnership has resulted in a number of projects with promising results in thefields of urban management, environment, health and education.
Meanwhile, Vietnam and Cuba set up diplomatic relations on December 2, 1960,ushering in a new chapter in their friendship. Bilateral cooperation has beenexpanded in numerous fields such as agriculture, industry, construction, trade,investment, culture, education, science and technology. -VNA
