Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong met with Yu Zhengsheng,Chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People’s PoliticalConsultative Conference (CPPCC), on April 8 as part of his on-goingofficial visit to China.
General SecretaryTrong congratulated the CPPCC on the success of its third session andvoiced his belief that the Chinese people will continue to reap evengreater achievements and fulfil the goals of building an overallwell-off society and socialism in the country.
The Vietnamese Party leader said the cooperation between the VietnamFatherland Front and the CPPCC has contributed greatly to theVietnam-China relations.
He added that he hopesthe two organisations will foster their result-oriented partnershipduring the year marking the 65th anniversary of bilateral diplomaticties, thus helping with enhancing mutual understanding and consolidatingthe people-to-people friendship between the two countries.
The Chairman of the National Committee of the CPPCC, who is alsomember of the Communist Party of China Politburo Standing Committee,hailed the visit by the Vietnamese Party General Secretary, saying thatit has produced positive outcomes of great importance for the friendshipand cooperation between the two Parties and countries.
The two sides agreed to maintain efforts to strengthen and enhancethe political trust between the two Parties and countries as well as thefriendship between the two peoples, while expanding and improving theefficiency of cooperation across all sectors.
They reached consensus on the full and strict implementation ofagreements reached between leaders of the two countries whileeffectively managing disputes, maintaining peace and stability towards ahealthy and sustainable development of bilateral ties.
The CPPCC leader later hosted a banquet in honour of theVietnamese Party General Secretary and the Vietnamese delegation.-VNA
