Hanoi (VNA) – Party General Secretary Nguyen PhuTrong and a high-ranking delegation of Vietnam left Hanoi on January 12 morningfor an official visit to China.
The visit from January 12-15 is made at theinvitation of Party General Secretary and President of China Xi Jinping.
The Vietnamese delegation includes Vo Van Thuong– Politburo member, Secretary of the Party Central Committee and Chairman ofthe Party Central Committee’s Commission for Communication and Education; PhamBinh Minh – Politburo member, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister; NgoXuan Lich – Politburo member and Minister of National Defence; and To Lam –Politburo member and Minister of Public Security, among others.
The visit takes place at a time when the overallVietnam-China ties are stable with certain progress made in severalfields.
It aims at further strengthening bilateral tiesand defining the long-term direction for the healthy and stable development ofthe relations in the future.
The visit is also hoped to create strong changesand improve the efficiency of bilateral cooperation in all fields, especiallyin economic links, thus bringing practical benefits to both nations’ development.-VNA
