Hue made therequest at his meeting with WB Country Director in Vietnam VictoriaKwakwa in Hanoi on April 9, where the two discussed their cooperationplans for the future.

He mentioned his agency’s plan toconduct studies in a number of fields, focusing on building policies forthe national reform process; enterprise structure in the context ofeconomic restructuring; regional economic development and regionallinking; national industry and material industry development;industrialising agriculture and rural economic development strategy; andsustainable development.

He also called for the WB’s supportfor the Commission’s effort to improve the efficiency of mobilisationand management of development assistance sources and preferential loans,expressing his hope that the bank will share its research results inthe aforementioned fields.

For her part, Kwakwa stated theWB will give priority to supporting the Commission in making nationalindustry policy and that it is willing to share its experience in thefields.

She also reviewed Vietnam’s macro-economy and the bank’splan to produce a Vietnam Report 2035, saying that the informationshared by Hue is connected to the report.-VNA
