Hanoi (VNA) – PartyGeneral Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong underscored the importance of Vietnam-Laostraditional friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation duringhis reception in Hanoi on March 27 forGovernor of Laos’ Vientiane capital Sinlavong Khoutphaythoune.

The Party chief hailed the visit whichis concurrent with the 55th anniversary of the bilateral diplomatic ties andthe 40th anniversary of the signing of the Treaty of Amity and Cooperation.

Speaking highly of the outcomesof the working session between Hanoi authorities and the Vientiane delegation,and cooperation between the two capital cities over the past years, Trong wishedthat Vientiane would continue working closely with Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City andVietnamese localities to further improve the efficiency of wide-rangingcoordination, including sharing experience in the building of the Party andpolitical system, and socio-economic management.

Khoutphaythoune, for his part,informed the host about cooperative ties between Vientiane and Vietnameselocalities, as well as effective support that Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City have providedfor the Lao capital in the fields of economy, agriculture, tourism, healthcare, education, culture, experience sharing, and personnel training.

While briefing the Vietnameseleader about the outcomes of his talks with Secretary of the Hanoi municipalParty Committee Hoang Trung Hai, the guest affirmed that Vientiane would workclosely with Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City and other Vietnamese localities tocontinue further improving the efficiency of their all-around collaboration,contributing to effectively realising agreements reached by the two Parties andcountries’ leaders.-VNA
