Parliamentary Group to foster Vietnam-Mexico ties

Vietnamese Ambassador to Mexico Le Thanh Tung and Deputy DirectorGeneral of the Vietnam News Agency (VNA) Dinh Dang Quang, who is on aworking visit to Mexico , attended the event.

GeneralSecretary of the Mexican Labour Party, Senator Alberto Anaya Gutierrez,has been selected as the group’s president.

In his openingremarks, Senator Gutierrez praised Vietnamese people’s traditions infighting foreign invaders to defend the fatherland.

He highlyappreciated Vietnam ’s renewal cause initiated by the Communist Partyof Vietnam in 1986 as well as its great achievements in many realms,stressing the country’s target to become a modern industrialisedcountry.

The senator laid special emphasis on the need toenhance the multifaceted relationship between the two countries, sayingthat the group’s objective is to contribute to promoting the linkage,for the benefit of the two countries’ people.

Ambassador Tungand VNA Deputy Director General Quang thanked the Mexican Government andpeople for their valuable support to Vietnam during its path ofnational liberation and current national construction.
Theyvoiced their belief that the group will bring the cooperative relations,mutual trust and understanding between the two countries to a higherlevel.

Both acknowledged the strong developments in theVietnam-Mexico cooperative ties over the past years, especially intrade.

They used the occasion to introduce Vietnam ’ssocio-economic and political situation, and invited the group’s membersto visit Vietnam as soon as possible.-VNA
