Prague (VNA) – National Assembly Chairwoman NguyenThi Kim Ngan visited Karlovy Vary region of the Czech Republic on April 13 aspart of her official trip to the European nation.
At a meeting with the Vietnamese delegation,Mayor of Karlovy Vary city of the Karlovy Vary region Petr Kulhanek introducedthe history of his city, which is deemed a cinematographic capital of the CzechRepublic as it is the venue of many regional and international film festivals.
It is home to beautiful landscapes, renownedarchitectures, as well as unique cultural values of the Czech Republic. Thecity also houses a number of famous crystal producers of the country, he noted.
He spoke highly of the industriousness of the Vietnamesepeople in Karlovy Vary, adding that the second- and third-generation Vietnamesein the Czech Republic have good academic results. He considered them as a linkto strengthen the two nations’ friendship.
Chairwoman Ngan thanked the local authoritiesfor creating optimum conditions for the Vietnamese people to integrate into theCzech society.
She said at her meetings with Czech leaders, thetwo sides reached a high consensus on the need to intensify the countries’traditional friendship and multifaceted cooperation.
She voiced her hope that Karlovy Vary leaderswill encourage local businesses and people to increase trade, investment,cultural and tourism cooperation with Vietnamese localities. She also asked forfurther favourable conditions for the Vietnamese community there.
The top legislator also invited the region’sofficials to visit and set up cooperative relations with Vietnamese localitieswhich boast tourism advantages like Quang Ninh and Khanh Hoa provinces.
