Parishioners in the Red River Delta province of Ninh Binh have been eagerly preparing for the upcoming Christmas by practising art performances and decorating churches.

Ninh Binh (VNA) – Parishioners inthe Red River Delta province of Ninh Binh have been eagerly preparing for theupcoming Christmas by practising art performances and decorating churches. 

The Phat Diem Church in Phat Diem town of Kim Sondistrict is decorated colorfully with lights, stone caves and flowers. Allpreparations have been done on the threshold of the Christmas Eve.

Mai Van Quy, a dignitary in Phat Diem Diocese,said the diocese has always encouraged followers to actively join in patrioticemulation movements and contribute to local funds to support the poor andsocio-economic development.

Vu Tien Minh, a resident in Phat Diem town, saidlocal parishioners are excited with Christmas. They have decorated the churchand their houses to welcome the event.

Meanwhile, Pham Minh Ha, an officer of Kim Sondistrict’s Traffic Police Unit, said local policemen have worked with relevant agenciesto ensure security and safety for parishioners to enjoy their festive season.

The Phat Diem Diocese currently has nearly 5,000parishioners. The Phat Diem Church has lured crowds of local residents andtourists during this occasion.-VNA
