Thereare about 10,000 Vietnamese nationals residing in the European country,mainly in the major cities of Kharkov , Odessa , Kiev and Donetskaccording to the department.

When recentviolence escalated, the foreign ministry asked the Vietnamese Embassy inUkraine to keep a close watch on the situation while ensuringsecurity and safety for the Vietnamese community in the country.

The embassy has closely coordinated with Vietnamese associationsacross Ukraine, asking them enhance solidarity and support each other toprotect property and human lives, especially in areas where clashestake place.

It has also assigned staff to providetimely assistance to Vietnamese people, swiftly handling procedures forthose who want to come back home.

The Mekong Delta province of Bac Lieu on October 21 signed a cooperation agreement with Uiseong county, Gyeongsangbuk-do province of the Republic of Korea (RoK) on sending local labourers to the RoK to work seasonally under the form of locality-to-locality collaboration between the two countries in the 2023 - 2027 period.

Tien Giang strives to reduce poverty rate to 0.87% this year
