Overseas Vietnamese children celebrate Mid-Autumn Festival

Vietnamese embassies and expat community in many countries held mid-Autumn celebrations for their children with the purposes of enhancing community ties and nurturing the children’s love towards their homeland’s culture.

This is the first time the Association ofVietnamese in the UK in conjunction with the Embassy organised the fullmoon festival. The children were introduced to the origin of thefestival and then joined in a parade of star lanterns. They also tastedVietnamese traditional moon cakes and were given traditional toys suchas bamboo dragon fly.

Similar events were held in India andSwitzerland over the past few days. The Mid-Autumn Festival this yearfalls on September 8.-VNA

ASEAN’s goods, culinary culture promoted in Europe

The Mekong Delta province of Bac Lieu on October 21 signed a cooperation agreement with Uiseong county, Gyeongsangbuk-do province of the Republic of Korea (RoK) on sending local labourers to the RoK to work seasonally under the form of locality-to-locality collaboration between the two countries in the 2023 - 2027 period.

Tien Giang strives to reduce poverty rate to 0.87% this year
