InApril alone, as many as 9,950 workers were sent abroad. Taiwan (China)became the top destination for Vietnamese labourers with 6,630 people,followed by Japan (2,060 workers), Malaysia (560 workers), Saudi Arabia(350 workers) and RoK (190 workers).
Taiwan, accepting a largenumber of unskilled workers, continues to be a key market for Vietnameselabourer exports, underpinned by good salaries and legal frameworksprotecting both nations’ workers.
Meanwhile, Vietnamese labourers are being welcomed in Japanese and Korean markets in the construction sector.
Workersin the construction sector completing their three-year probationaryperiod in Japan will be eligible to return and work in the country.Japan also encourages high-quality labour exports, such as designengineers, mechanical engineers, nurses and nurse-aids.
Opportunities are also newly available for Vietnamese workers who wantto work in the Republic of Korea (RoK), as the two countries extended aMemorandum of Understanding (MoU) on supplying and receiving Vietnameseworkers to the RoK under the Employment Permit System (EPS) on April 10.
Accordingly, 5,400 Vietnamese labourersare eligible to register for jobs in the RoK with a maximum of 2,900 tobe chosen to work in the manufacturing and construction sectors in thehost country.-VNA
